About Dr. Mac
Don MacMannis, Ph.D. (aka Dr. Mac) is a child psychologist, music director and songwriter who specializes in creative projects that help kids boost character, social and emotional skills. As the music director and songwriter for the PBS hit series, Jay Jay the Jet Plane, a songwriter for the top-rated Nick Jr. show Mutt & Stuff, and creator of the acclaimed CD series Happy Kids Songs, he has has won numerous song writing and production awards.
Also a child and family psychologist, he is the Clinical Director of the Family Therapy Institute of Santa Barbara. He is the co-author of the highly acclaimed parenting books, How’s Your Family Really Doing? and Who’s the Boss?, as well as the creator of the online course Parenting Spirited, Strong-willed Kids: The Win-Win Way to Bring Out the Best.
He has been a school consultant for the past twenty-five years and has taught courses in psychology at graduate and post-graduate levels. In high demand as a presenter on topics related to parenting, teaching and social and emotional learning, he has been featured in national newspapers, magazines, radio programs.
Judy Stevens Long is an award winning playwright and holds a Ph.D. in Human Development. She is professor emeritus at California State University and the Fielding Graduate University.
Mark Young is an Emmy Award winning producer, director and writer, as well as an experienced executive in charge of both animated and live-action productions. He has been extensively involved in development and production of a variety of animated, as well as live action specials, and series that include the animated theatrical features, All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 and Once Upon a Forest.
